During the 90s, women were believed to be perfect in home roles like bringing up the children, and taking care of men. Many males of that time view that decision as lack of respect for their ability and it brought a lot of problems in many families like divorce and frequent wars.

Today’s life is very different from that of the 90s and this has been mostly influenced by the change of gender roles. Men are no longer dictators in the family and any decision that is made in the family; it must be an agreement between all members of the family. Women have featured in the workforce with full force where they have neglected their family responsibilities; this has caused a lot of trouble in the family because children are left without parental care. Other serious problems like conjugal rights have been neglected and the result of that is a lot of divorce incidents in many families

Women Empowerment: In the 1990s, women’s participation in the workforce had grown to 60% — while men’s participation shrank to 74.7%. Women’s income continued to rise in relation to men’s income, moving up by 1999

LGBTQ continue to experience stigma, prejudice and discrimination in Philippine society. This stigma is manifested in actions such as: bullying, teasing and harassment of LGBT children and adolescents in families, schools and communities; media portrayal of LGBTs as frivolous, untrustworthy and even dangerous or predatory; denying transgender Filipinos entry into commercial establishments; pigeonholing LGBT Filipinos into particularly limited roles and occupations; or curtailing their rights to participate in the political sphere.
